Train staff to advise patient about:
- 1) Cutaneous side effects
i) Start slowly and build up gradually
ii) Always take with meals
iii) Use aspirin judiciously
iv) Avoid simultaneous hot beverages
v) Effects are "transient"
vi) Use information sheet (sample enclosed)
You can advise patient about:
- 2) Other Adverse Effects:
i) Hyperglycemia
ii) LFT abnormalities
iii) Gout
iv) Rash/Acanthosis Nigricans
v) Avoid sustained release preparations
