Always Maintain

• Step I or Step II diet (as tolerated)

*Correct triglycerides first with either:

• Niacin, or
• Fenofibrate or Gemfibrozil

If LDL-C remains above goal, then add:

• Statin
• Niacin, or
• Sequestrants

*If TG 300 mg/dl or less, may also use statin as initial agent.
