Welcome to the Department of Medicine at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School .
The Department of Medicine of
UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick is comprised
of approximately 140 paid and over 400 volunteer faculty members organized
in 14 divisions covering the major medical sub-specialties: Allergy, Immunology
and Infectious Diseases; Cardiovascular Diseases and Hypertension; Interventional
Cardiology; Clinical Pharmacology; Developmental Medicine and Research;
Education; Endocrinology, Metabolism and Nutrition; Gastroenterology and
Hepatology; General Internal Medicine; Hematology; Medical Oncology; Nephrology;
Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine; and Rheumatology.
Our faculty members are distinguished
educators, successful researchers and excellent clinicians who provide
primary, secondary, tertiary and quaternary inpatient and outpatient care
in outpatient facilities, centers and institutes and affiliated hospitals.
They conduct cutting-edge research funded by the NIH, Foundations and
the industry and publish in prestigious journals such as Journal of
the American Medical Association, The Lancet, New England
Journal of Medicine, Science and high-impact subspecialty
journals.
We have an outstanding Internal
Medicine Residency Program and fellowships in Cardiovascular Diseases;
Interventional Cardiology; Endocrinology, Metabolism and Nutrution; Gastroenterology
and Hepatology; Hematology/Medical Oncology; Allergy, Immunology and Infectious
Diseases; Nephrology; Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine; and Rheumatology.
We provide continuing medical education in the broad field of Internal
Medicine and its subspecialties and develop enduring educational materials.
