Message from the Chief

Division ChairThe mission of the Division of General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics is excellence in patient care, education and research.

The Division is composed of a total of 18 faculty who lead programs in Bloodless Medicine and Surgery, Executive Health, Geriatrics, and Clinical Informatics.

Our faculty provides inpatient care at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital , outpatient care at its Primary Care General Internal Medicine practice in New Brunswick, and resident care at Genesis Eldercare in Cranbury, New Jersey.

Educating our medical students and residents is an essential activity of the faculty, who have been recipients of several teaching awards in recent years. We direct the 4th year clerkship in medicine, actively participate in hospital teaching and consultative services, and teach evidence based medicine and critical appraisal skills.

Our research program is diverse and well funded. Our research is supported by grants from the National Institute of Health, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and pharmaceutical companies. Faculty interests vary from outcome studies, decision analysis, geriatric studies, informatics, and health services research.
