Message from the ChiefWelcome!
Skilled faculty including physician specialists, researchers, nurse specialists, dietitians and laboratory personnel provide comprehensive clinical care for health problems including diabetes mellitus, thyroid, adrenal and pituitary gland conditions, osteoporosis and calcium metabolism issues, hypercholesterolemia, atherosclerosis, obesity, nutrition, and sexual dysfunction. Division faculty members also serve as directors of the Regional Osteoporosis and Diabetes Centers. Members of the Division participate in teaching at all levels including medical students in the first year: biochemistry, physiology, clinical correlation; the second year: pathophysiology course; physical diagnosis course; the third year: clinical management case discussions; and, the fourth year: participation of medical students in clinical and research endocrinology electives. At the postgraduate level, faculty members mentor resident physicians and clinical and research fellows in both bench and clinical research. Our physicians also serve as attending physicians for general medical, endocrine-related and nutritional consultations on a daily basis throughout the year at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and other affiliated facilities.
