Student Handbook

The Graduate Student Handbook for UMDNJ Students is for informational use only and does not constitute a contract between UMDNJ and any student. It may be changed by UMDNJ without prior notice to students. Any rules, regulations, policies, procedures or other representations made herein may be interpreted and applied by UMDNJ to promote fairness and academic excellence, based on the circumstances of each individual situation. Some pertinent University policies have been summarized to highlight their relevance to graduate students.

Rutgers students should visit the Rutgers Graduate School website for rules, regulations, policies & procedures. 

Academic Forms

Please note that academic forms for UMDNJ students for the graduate school need to be filled out to track student progress including for qualifying exam, committee meetings, thesis defense and graduation.

Forms for Rutgers students may be obtained directly from the Graduate School in New Brunswick or on the Rutgers website.

Financial Information

Full-time PhD candidates in all of our programs receive:

GSBS at RWJMS

The UMDNJ Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School offers interdisciplinary training in specialties including Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Physiology, Environmental Exposure, Molecular Genetics, Biomedical Engineering, Toxicology, and Neuroscience.  These graduate training programs are offered jointly with Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey Graduate School New Brunswick on our Piscataway and New Brunswick campuses.
