During the application process, you will be asked to identify the program to which you are applying. Below is the list of programs as they appear on the Rutgers application web site. Note that there is no program listing for "Molecular Biosciences." If you would like to apply to the Molecular Biosciences umbrella program, simply choose any one of the participating sub-programs (see below). The choice you make on this application does not determine which sub-program you will actually enter if accepted.

The following official documents must be received to consider your application complete:

  • Official transcripts from all prior colleges or universities.
  • Official GRE score report is required only for the following programs: Biomedical Engineering, Toxicology and Environmental Sciences (Human Exposure Assessment option). Note that Neuroscience as well as the Molecular Biosciences programs (Biochemistry, Cell and Developmental Biology, Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, Pharmacology, and Physiology and Integrative Biology) do not require the GRE test.
  • Recommendations from three individuals, preferably academic instructors, who have direct knowledge of the applicant’s academic abilities in science related fields.
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) required of all foreign applicants.

MS in Clinical and Translational Science:

Eligible applicants will have completed or be within one year of completing one or more of the following degrees:  MD, PhD, DO, PharmD, DDS, DVM, or similar degree.  Those with other professional degrees should contact the Program Director: Dr. Debabrata Banerjee (732) 235-4154/6458 to discuss eligibility.   In some cases, experience will substitute for the advanced degree requirement.

All applicants must submit their application and supporting documents by the deadline.

  • Official General Graduate Record Examination (GRE) results.*
  • Recommendation from two individuals, preferably academic instructors, mentors or industry peers, who have direct knowledge of the applicant’s abilities in science-related fields.
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) required for all foreign applicants.
  • Full Current Curriculum Vitae (CV)

* Applicants possessing an advanced degree or currently enrolled in an advanced degree program are not required to re-take the GRE for entry into this program.  Instead, these applicants should provide results of the entry examinations required for their specific degree or program (i.e. GRE, MCAT, DAT, etc).  Waivers may be requested prior to application submission by contacting the Program Director,Dr. Debabrata Banerjee by mailing request to the  The ETS  Institutional code for SGS - New Brunswick/Piscataway is  2786.   The departmental code for the program is 0699 (Health and Medical Science - Other).
