MBS/MSBS Application Page

Starting November 15, 2011, we will begin accepting applications for the fall of 2012 into our Masters of Science and Masters in Biomedical Science Programs.  Please follow the instructions below to submit an online application.  If you have any questions or run into any problems, please email us at:

All supporting documents must be submitted by the application deadline, June 15, 2012.

NOTE: Our admissions are rolling, so getting an application completed early will improve your chances of being admitted.

Instructions for Online Application (read this before linking to application site):

1. Create a login ID and PIN (self explanatory).

2. You must choose the correct campus. The program described on this website is for the Master of Science or Masters of Biomedical Science at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Piscataway, NJ.  Other UMDNJ campuses have similar programs, so make sure you select the proper program in the dropdown menu:    "GSBS-RWJMS."  See the screenshot below.

3.  To complete the application, click on each of the sections in blue.  Once completed, a section will be marked with a checkmark.  Once all sections are complete, click the "Application is Complete" button to finish the submission process (see screenshot below).

This will allow you to submit payment of the $65 application fee online using a credit card.  Note that you do not have to complete the application in one sitting.  You may quit and log back in at any time to pick up where you left off.

The final screen will remind you that you need to send supporting documents to the GSBS office in Piscataway or by email to rwjmsmasters@umdnj.edu.  Below is the list of supporting documents that are required. The GSBS mailing address is:

4. Submit Required Documents

The following documents must be received to consider your application complete:

  • Completed Official Application (online application)
  • Official transcripts from prior colleges or universities.
  • Official Graduate Record Exam (GRE), Medical College Admission Test (MCAT), or Dental Admission Test (DAT) results. 
  • Recommendation letters from two individuals (you can have letters sent directly from your referees, from an application service such as Interfolio or directly from your Health Professions Advisor). We will accept your Pre-Health Committee Letter in lieu of two individual letters as long as it was written less than two years ago.
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) required for all foreign applicants.

All supporting documents must be submitted by the application deadline, June 15.
