Alpha Omega Alpha Carolyn L. Kuckein Student Research Fellowship

Description:

The purpose of this fellowship is to stimulate interest in research among medical students. Areas of research may include clinical investigation, basic research, epidemiology, and social science/health service research.

Because this program is designed to attract students without extensive research experience, those with Ph.D. degrees and those enrolled in MD/Ph.D. programs are not eligible.

Duration:

8 - 10 weeks

Stipend:

$5,000 to the student for support of the proposed research (one-half to be paid upon announcement of the award, the other half upon approval by AOA of a final report of the research.) Up to $1000 will be reimbursed for travel to present research results at a national meeting.

Deadline:

Proposal submittal to councilor: December 31, 2009

Final application to national office: January 31, 2010
