Patient Centered Medicine II Course Number: MDC 7011A
Patient Centered Medicine II builds upon experiences in PCM I: humanism and professionalism, cultural and ethical sensitivity, and the influence of one's own cultural and personal beliefs on the practice of medicine. Students are expected to utilize interpersonal skills, physical examination, clinical reasoning, and knowledge of pathophysiology in evaluating patients. Students perform and record a comprehensive physical examination, as well as focused physical examinations with concentration on systems. Patients (adults and children) are seen in hospitals, outpatient offices, and in a nursing home. Students are also taught how to record and report observations in an organized, conventional style. |
