Message from the Chair

Welcome to the Department of Pharmacology at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. The faculty in this Department are devoted to both teaching and research excellence. In addition to teaching the Medical Pharmacology course to the medical students, the Department hosts one of the largest graduate programs in the medical school, the Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology Graduate Program, which is a joint program between Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey and Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. The program is designed to train future research scientists interested in the pharmacology discipline.

Our faculty has diverse research interests in areas such as cancer pharmacology, cancer biology, aging, autophagy, cell signaling, receptor biology, ion channels, modern drug design, DNA damage and repair, chromatin structure and function, bioinformatics, drug discovery, etc.
