Rotation Distribution for Residents

• PGY 1
  8.5 months in hospital ward and critical care rotations.
  2.5 months electives and selectives.
  1 month vacation.
• PGY 2
  6.5 months in hospital ward and critical care rotations.
  4.5 months electives and selectives.
  1 month vacation.
• PGY 3
  6.5 months in hospital ward and critical care rotations.
  4.5 months electives and selectives.
  1 month vacation.
  

• In-hospital rotations are evenly distributed between both hospital sites.
• Vacations are assigned in two week blocks at the PGY1 level and in one or two week blocks at the PGY2/3 level.
• Selectives include Emergency Medicine, Neurology, Geriatrics, GIM Consults, Psychiatry, PM&R, Non IM Specialty Ambulatory Block, and IM Subspecialty block.  All of these required rotations are free of weekend or night call.
