CVINJ
Established
formally in 2001, the Cardiovascular Institute of New Jersey (CVINJ)
provides research, education and patient care, bringing together
clinicians and scientists working in collaboration across multiple
disciplines.
The
mission of the CVINJ is to translate new knowledge of heart disease
into practical applications and improve heart health by:
- Developing
and pioneering integrative strategies to prevent, treat and cure
heart disease;
- Translating
science and technology into new applications;
- Promoting
heart health; and,
- Training
future leaders in cardiovascular medicine.
CVINJ
is uniquely positioned to achieve this mission because of its outstanding
clinical services, research, education and community outreach programs,
its partnership with the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital
and its proximity to the many multinational pharmaceutical and medical
device companies located in New Jersey.
CVINJ
continues to achieve acknowledged prominence by building on its
core strengths:
- Translational
research, development and evaluation of new cardiovascular agents
and devices;
- Nationwide,
multi-center, clinical trials of new, safe and effective treatments
for cardiovascular disease;
- Evidence-based
clinical practice standards and clinical care policies utilizing
data from its statewide cardiovascular disease database;
- Non-invasive
techniques for diagnosing cardiovascular disease, using bioengineering
methods; and,
- Pre-eminent
award-winning faculty.
