Nurturing Choice in Relationships for Adults with Developmental Disabilities: Measuring Sexual Consent and Sharing Strategies for Support

In this workshop, participants will learn methods for measuring sexual consent capacity in people with developmental disabilities. Presented by Bill Taverner, MA, author and co-editor of the American Journal of Sexuality Education, participants will examine and discuss the balancing act between advocating for sexual rights and protecting individuals from possible harm. Copies of the Verbal Informed Sexual Consent Assessment Tool will be available for discounted purchase (Regularly $35, inclusive of shipping; $25 at the workshop.) In addition, strategies for supporting the development of relationships between consenting adults will be shared. Registration is limited.
