Interdisciplinary Traineeship
The Interdisciplinary Traineeship program at The Boggs Center provides a select group of undergraduate and graduate students with individualized learning opportunities, training a cadre of professionals prepared to provide leadership in the field of developmental disabilities. The program, which runs from September through June, includes required seminars; visits to different types of service settings; interviews with people with disabilities, service providers, and families; a field placement or research project; annotated bibliography; and projects with Boggs Center staff.
An individualized training plan combines required and specialized activities which reflect each students interests and experience. The Traineeship is conducted in an independent study format, with academic credit with approval of advisor. Each student is matched with a Boggs Center staff member, who as a facilitator, guides the students activities and provides feedback. Stipends are available.
