Welcome
Ann Milam
Ann Milam is a Training and Consultation Specialist at The Boggs Center working with
the Self Directed Supports Team. Ann will provide training and technical assistance in the areas of Person Centered Thinking and Essential Lifestyle Planning. She will work on technical assistance projects focused on development of systematic approaches to enhance recruitment, retention, and skills of the direct support workforce. Ann will support the efforts of the NJ Direct Support Professional Workforce Development Coalition and NJ Trainers' Network. She will also focus on building capacity of other community-based organizations to include and support persons with developmental disabilities.
Ann earned her graduate degree in education from Rutgers University. She has 23 years of experience working in the field of developmental disabilities as a Teacher, Support Specialist, and Staff Trainer.
Prior to The Boggs Center, Ann worked at the Arc of Somerset County for 16 years.
Amaka Achebe
Amaka is the new Data Analyst at The Boggs Center. She will assist with the Boggs Center's databases, reports, and technology needs. She will also handle registration for the Developmental Disabilities Lecture Series. 
Amaka came to The Boggs Center from the UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School's Institute of Ophthalmology and Visual Science. Prior to her employment at UMDNJ, she was enlisted in the United States Army for four and a half years. She served in Texas, Germany, and Iraq. She earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Studies with a concentration in Information Systems Management from the University of Maryland.
Appointments
Deborah M. Spitalnik, Ph.D., Executive Director, is serving as the New Jersey state team liason for the Alliance for Full Participation Summit 2005: Many Voices, One Vision. The Summit is being held in Washington, DC on September 22 - 23, 2005.
