October 11, 2013 - Duration 2.75 hrs

New Jersey is beginning to implement a Supports Program funded through Medicaid. As individuals and families seek these services, it is crucial that supports are available and provided in ways that meet the needs and preferences of the consumer. The presentation will give providers a basis for which to create new models for service as NJ system reform is implemented. We will discuss the importance of supporting self-direction, recognizing people with disabilities as citizens rather than clients, crafting approaches that seek to define quality from the viewpoint of the customer, and developing services and supports that meet customer expectations.
